Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Honda Fit HybridFinding an affordable car nowadays is something that a lot of people are struggling with – if you are one of those people, just remember that you can get your salesmen to agree to your price, you really just need to haggle your way down.  That brings us to the Honda Fit Hybrid.  This car is one of the few that you do not have to haggle the price down for it is just over fifteen thousand and for a hybrid Honda car, that is extremely reasonable!

This car is actually going to be released in the fall of 2010, but it is definitely one of the best cars in the world!  Not only does the Honda Fit Hybrid have the Honda name behind it, but if you want a quality car that is going to last you quite a long time, you absolutely need to make sure that you do a little research!

The Coda: It’s Coming To The US!

Saturday, June 6th, 2009

Although all of us in the US are scared of what is going to happen to the automotive industry, for those of us that are concerned with the environment, you can rest assured that China is taking care of us.  The Coda is the newest, greatest and latest car to be imported from China to the US and it is a five passenger sedan that is completely electric!  This car runs on Chinese batteries and while that will most likely change when it comes to the US, the Coda is definitely the first step in getting fully electric cars.

This car can run on its batteries 90 to 120 miles per charge and it will start selling in California next year and then throughout the country later in the year.  It will run roughly forty-five thousand, but to be honest, if you do not have to buy gas, that really is a good idea.

So what do you think?  About us importing another car that is and a completely electric car?  Let me know!

Kia Borrego FCEV Boasts to Be an Efficient Road Trekker

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

Korean automaker, Kia, revealed its latest fuel-cell electric vehicle (FCEV) system at the Los Angeles Auto Show held last November 2008. Earlier FCEVs were constructed into Sportage sport ute, which is relatively smaller compared to the larger Borrego, which Kia chose to use for its latest technology.

Remarkable advantages and improvements as compared to the previous system were noted. These include the added 47 hp—boosting fuel-cell performance to 154 hp—and a new 450-volt super capacitor, adding another 134 hp. The super capacitor increases the system’s driving range and allows the model to jumpstart in subzero temperatures, making it a green car that can be used all year round.

The new Borrego FCEV has a maximum speed of 100 mph. The Korean automaker boasts of a top of the line system efficiency of 62 percent, which is equivalent to a collective EPA rating of 54 mpg. Borrego can be equipped with two or three hydrogen tanks with a top range of approximately 426 miles.

Kia ensures that that even for its size, the new Borrego FCEV models remain lightweight by using aluminum die casted body components. It weighs in at 4,960 pounds and has 0-60 mph time of 12.8 seconds.
