According to an inside scoop, the carmaker is still mulling over the decision whether this new-generation VW Golf hatchback will be in production in U.S. along with the Passat, a model that was designed for Middle East, Mexico, South Korea, and Canada.

The inside scoop also indicates that the Chattanooga-VW Golf decision is part of the German carmaker’s plan to trade almost 800,000 models to U.S. by year 2018. The current VW Golf hatchback carries a hefty tag price of almost $17,965. Moving the production to U.S. might just be a rational move after all as critics speculate that its sale would be does well in U.S. soil.

The all new Volkswagen Golf hatchback is planned to launch by early 2013 with MQB (Modularer Querbaukasten or Modular Transverse Matrix ) Architecture similar to the revamped Audi A3 model. This new technology allows the carmaker to employ a wide range of front-wheel, front-engine models. In line with this, the rumors also speculate that the A3 and Q5 models would be produced in the same Tennessee plant.

As far as press releases are concerned, the carmaker says that it’s not impossible that the entire VW compact line, which includes the Scirocco, Jetta, Tiguan, and Golf models, might be built in the same plant where the Passat is.

There is a reason for that title.

In fact, there are several reasons for that title.

Before I reveal the big mystery, however, I want you to do me a favor.

See this picture, here? It is the Nissan Micra.

I just want you to look at it from a while. Study it. Really pay attention to its details.

Do you see what I see?

See, what I see is a bunch of details that belong to different, big selling automobiles.

I see touches of the Volkswagen Beetle.

I see glimpses of the majorly popular Mini Cooper.

I see nuances of the Dodge/Plymouth Neon.

So I say, Nissan is copying off everyone else’s paper and should be ashamed of themselves.

The Volkswagen Golf R20 is going to be powered up with all sorts of upgrades and feature a 2.0L engine with 265 HP and 258 lb-ft, likely the exact same engine as the Scirocco R20 and it is all kinds of awesome!

To me – VW is the best brand in the world – the cars last and to be perfectly honest, they look incredible. So if you are looking for something chic and inexpensive – VW is always the best option!

The cat and mouse chase between Porsche and Volkswagen may finally be reaching its peak. Recently at a meeting containing Volkswagen’s advisory board, the members approved an agreement which, ultimately, will allow for Porsche’s assimilation.

At present, Porsche SE has a little more than half of the common shares of Volkswagen, and it has the option for an extra twenty percent. These may be sold to the Emirate of Qatar. After that is completed — the amount of the transaction is unknown — it is expected that Volkswagen will buy shares — 42 percent — of Porsche AG.

Volkswagen will also be buying shares in Porsche Holding Salzburg, which is a trading company belonging to the Piech and Porsche families.

Then, by the end of 2011, it is believed Porsche and Volkswagen will finally merge and become a single company.

I realize this isn’t a real budget car, but hey, I like it!

The Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup series was a hit and car manufacturer Volkswagen has decided to expand next year’s series to ten races. Another good news from the car company is that non-race, everyday drivers may enjoy the diesel car used to live the racing track dreams.

The diesel engine vehicle that will be put into production will look very similar to the Jetta TDI Cup Edition Street concept unveiled in the recent SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

The production car will have the same looks of the cup edition VW Jetta TDI’s bumper, skirts, and rear configurations. The car will also be enhanced with brakes, sway bars, and suspension following the footsteps of the GLI sedan prowling in the European market today.

The street edition will have a 2.0L engine giving out 140 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. These performance figures will be coupled with the Tiptronic and Sport Mode technology coming with its DSG six-speed transmission. The car can blaze from 0 to 60 miles in 8.1 seconds and hit the quarter mile mark in just 16.4 seconds.

The Jetta TDI release may hit the markets with a sticker below $30000. It will be released as a sedan or a wagon.

VW Jetta TDI rules the Guinness World Record for fuel economy traveling across 48 states hitting an average of 58.8 mpg during the 9419-mile journey.

The diesel car is also compliant to laws implemented in 50 states. It comes with a free maintenance check when the gauge hits 36000 miles or for the first 36 months of the vehicle.
